Scott says Florida will file U.S. Supreme Court action in water dispute with Georgia

Gov. Rick Scott said Tuesday that Florida will file a lawsuit in the U.S. Supreme Court to halt what he says is the unchecked and growing consumption of water by Georgia.

The governor’s announcement in Apalachicola followed a U. S. Senate field hearing on the dispute over the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint river system. And the announcement came a day after U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker declared a commercial fishery failure for the oyster fishery along the west coast of Florida.
